The European Researcher's Mobility Portal is one of the initiatives aimed at contributing to attract and retain researchers in the European Research Area. It provides information about job vacancies, fellowships and grants throughout Europe. It also offers researchers the opportunity to submit their CV, and research organisations the opportunity to publish their job vacancies. All this is free of charge. The European portal also provides useful European Union country specific information for mobile researchers on the entry conditions, access to employment, social security rights, and taxation as well as on cultural aspects of a host country. As a shared initiative between the Commission and 32 European participating countries, the European portal is complemented by 31 national Mobility Portals.

The « Réseau BIOTechno » is a French National Network of Young Scientists in Life Sciences that is composed of 17 associations of local Young Scientists and PhD students. The aims of « Réseau BIOTechno » are to valorize the PhD diploma and to help young scientists to find the right job. To fulfill these missions, we organize each year the « BIOTechno colloquiums » that give young scientists and professionals of biotechnologies the opportunity to share their experiences. They constitute a context to discover the world of biotechnologies and the different careers offered after a PhD. Each year, 4 to 6 academic cities act as hosts of the colloquium, which is nationally coordinated but locally personalized by the local associations in charge of the event to fit to the local economic context. Real place of networking, « BIOTechno colloquiums » offer a real opportunity to make the first steps in the world of biotechnologies.
